Notes on Archiving and Documentation Activities at the Theatre Department of Universidad de Chile

Abstract
In this essay, we propose an interpretive approach to archiving and documentation activities carried out in the Department of Theatre at the University of Chile. In the context of the socalled subjective turn of the last decades, the work of teachers, graduates, and students has allowed us to discuss how notions such as memory, archive, and theatre history relate to the actions promoted by the Center for Theatre Research, Archive, and Documentation. These notes constitute a critical approach to a policy of representation of those events considered memorable by a community that is, at the same time, the material and sensitive manifestation of shared memories.
